March 13 (Tues) 1945, Alexandria, Egypt

Slipped from the Quay at 0850 and left harbour for exercises. Those carried out during the forenoon were HFX and Bombardment Communication, and later a 6″ full-calibre barrage at a towed Y sleeve. This was not so bright, as some projectiles fell into the sea before exploding and at least two exploded prematurely after leaving the gun. A dummy Torpedo Attack was carried out against HMS Active and after dark, a night encounter with the same ship. Star-shell was fired with much the same result as on previous occasions. On completion, anchored in Mex Roads.
