March 29 (Thurs) 1945, Red Sea

Early this morning [HMS] Implac entered Suez Bay. Some of our senior officers went over for a “Pow-wow”, and on their return preparations were made for weighing & proceeding to sea. Got underway at 1245 in brilliant sunshine, steaming 18kn. 5 cables astern of the carrier, with the destroyers [HMS Tumult & Terpischore] on her beam each side, en route for Colombo [Sri Lanka]. [HMS] Implacable is senior ship.
